  Before we get to that wedding- we have to tell you about what a cool place Best Friends Animals Sanctuary is.   We know first hand because Christine volunteered last fall at their sanctuary in Kanab, Utah

Best Friends in a nutshell:
they are the largest no-kill sanctuary in the United States... and if that's not enough...the DogTown series was filmed live at the sanctuary and shown on the National Geographic Channel, they also fought to save the lives of the dogs that Michael Vick was using in his dog fighting ring and were able to rehabilitate many of them.  Additionally, they were instrumental in the rescue of animals during Katrina...

Make A Thousand Dogs Smile !

Steve and Christine Haslet had the pleasure of delivering
ONE THOUSAND tennis balls donated by Petco
to Baja Animal Sanctuary a few days ago!

If you have a moment, you can check out the amazing work done for

We love and support
the work they do! 

Petco helps greatly by holding adoption events for these dogs in desperate need of homes from the sanctuary.  These events are held all around the San Diego area every month on Saturdays.  Petco in Poway, Sports Arena, Carmel Mountain and Vista love to participate!
 
You can call the Petco in your neighborhood or click right HERE for the schedule.  Adoptions are held on Saturdays 10am to 3pm in the various stores.   
 
The sanctuary is always in need and appreciates volunteers
for fund raising, helping with adoptions, and of course donations of materials and money.

Renee and Russ eloped with us yesterday with their four beautiful daughters on Coronado Beach. We know Republic well because our son has lived there the last four years while attending school.

We always marvel at how couples with loads of kids are ready and waiting for us at the beach to be married.... and how sometimes  it seems couples with no kids and no guests manage to often be so late and disorganized ! 

Congrats Renee, Russ and family...you are heading for quite an adventure with your new family!

We know first hand... Christine had three small children when she married Steve 23 years ago.

A Saturday off in July?  It doesn't happen very often and when it does, we love to celebrate! Our grandson, Isaiah is here from Seattle to spend the week.....and to remind us about how old we are getting :)
