Doyle's Mom and Dad "tie the knot" on Coronado Dog Beach!

Doyle, shelter puppy from Fort Collins, Colorado brought his mom and dad, Kelly and Lucas to Coronado Beach last night to watch them tie the knot with Christine and Steve of Elope San Diego! A rip snorting time was had by all, there was splashing, behind sniffing, ball chasing, kissing and digging.  We love our dog beach weddings almost as much as the dogs do.  It was Doyle's job to be the witness and he would have been fine, had he not found a tennis ball.  After that, his witnessing went right out the window.. or more appropriately.. right down the beach.  Christine stepped in to witness the ceremony after she was done taking photographs. We say...Congrats Kelly and Lucas,  and thank you for choosing Elope San Diego to be part of your most special day.

Coronado Welcomes The USS Vinson and her 3000 Sailors!

Today we welcomed the USS Vinson to San Diego, although they wouldn't let us all the way on the base,  we did get just past the gate and caught a glimpse of our sailors manning the rails... it's really a beautifully breathtaking site!
Then later in the day we were happy to marry and photograph Kathy and Glen who traveled from Minnesota to Elope to Coronado Beach.

Minutes after the wedding, we were excited to almost collide with two sailors who were running on the beach - doing PT with their heavy backpacks! We stopped them just long enough to get one of them to take our picture with Kathy and Glen.   Glen is retired Navy and had been stationed here in San Diego years ago, so he felt an instant connection.    Congrats Kathy and Glen  x0x0 from christine and steve

PS ....Sailors planning a wedding or elopement soon, check out our military wedding site here, for loads of info about planning a last minute wedding.  We offer a military discount to active duty military and can help you get your marriage license in hurry!  You CAN have a gorgeous, stylish wedding on the beach here in Coronado, without spending a fortune and without months of planning!

7.2 earthquake here in San Diego a few minutes ago...

The earth is moving here in San Diego, but all is well.     Wow!!!  a 7.2 earthquake, with 5.1 aftershock a few minutes later.
Our dogs told us about it a few minutes before it happened, unfortunately we don't speak "dog" as well as we thought we did.
They say there will be a few more.

Here we are, my fraidy cats (dogs) immediately after the earthquake-snuggling in my arms and shaking in their paws

Kids, Kisses and Chaos on your wedding day....... The 6 Things to Remember When You Include Children On Your Big Day!

Once you've decided to include children in your celebration, whether they're your own children or family and friends children, you'll need to be ready for anything! Especially when planning a destination beach wedding.  With the temptation of the surf, sand and all the excitement you'll need to prepared for lots of surprises.  These are some of the small bits of advice we share with couples who elope on the beach with Elope San Diego.

1. Let go of those expectations of perfectly behaved children.

2.  Consider giving children small tasks, jobs or positions of importance...for example carrying the rings as the ring bearer or the job of tossing the petals.

3. If you are joining two families together, Brady Bunch style... it's fun to mention each child by name during the ceremony and watch their faces light up.
Couples also often present a small gift to each of the children

4. Consider the time of day for the ceremony when including small children, avoiding that bewitching hour of the day called  "nap time".

5. Bring snacks, toys and change of clothes.

6. Relax and let the day unfold with all of the surprises
that children can bring to your celebration!
Often they bring a joyful, lighthearted spirit to the day if you let things just unfold.

What happens when they have a weekend off from elopements and weddings?

Most anything
 can happen!

Those of you who know Christine and Steve, may remember that they are huge animal lovers, and very active in the world of animal rescue as well as any work having to do with taking care of critters of all kinds.

Christine spent her weekend off immersed in a very full two days with the Noah's Wish.  Noah's Wish is a group Christine volunteered with during the wildfires in San Diego several years back.  She was so impressed with their work and dedication with the animals during the wildfire evacuations, she made a promise to herself to find out what more she could do to be part of this wonderful organization.  So she spent her weekend receiving their formal training for animal rescue in disasters.  This training done, she is ready to go in the event of a disaster when there are animals in need.  The training wasn't limited to learning more about the care, love and feeding of dogs and cats in a disaster situation... but guinea pigs, chinchillas, bunnies... oh my, snakes and iguanas too!

She met some great new friends and fellow animal lovers in the process  here's Alicia from Los Angeles... she rescues rotties as well as other dogs from shelters who need homes in the Los Angeles area.

What a great way to spend a weekend-- for more information about Noah's Wish... how to help, what they are up to, or just general information just click the link!

International Jet-Setting Couple marry in the rain on Coronado Beach, California!

Umbrellas turned inside out last Saturday afternoon in a torrential downpour...   a storm to beat all storms as Jeremy and Minerva exchanged wedding vows on Coronado Beach.

The torrential downpour didn't stop the laughter, the tears and the joy as Jeremy and Minerva said their "I do's".

Jeremy from Scotland, wearing his kilt and Minerva from Guadalajara dressed in her beautiful white rain soaked gown exchanged wedding vows, looking out on the crashing waves and blustery winds last Saturday afternoon.  We managed to find shelter under the eaves of the hotel to have one of the most memorable elopement ceremonies ever.  After over three thousand weddings, we can say that without reservation.  On a wedding day that many might have considered "ruined" by the weather-- Jeremy and Minerva took the road less traveled and delighted in the challenge.

You left us both in awe of your relationship, your love, your spontaneity. We wish you all the happiness and adventure in the world!

We were just interviewed by Lifetime Television!

destination weddings, eloping away from home, running away to get married, destination weddings in california, lifetime television show interview

Wow.....

This morning we got a call from Lifetime Television!  Brenda from the show" Balancing Act" called to find out about the destination weddings and elopements we do here at Elope San Diego.  (fyi, that's not a real picture of Brenda, or me for that matter)

She is putting together a story for their travel themed show about destination weddings.
Since that's exactly what we do, it was fun to be able to tell her about our services and some of the cool weddings we're part of on almost a daily basis.
Thanks for the call, Brenda!

Even YOU could plan a spectacular wedding in under a week !

last minute weddings, spontaneous elopement, getting married in a hurry, destination beach weddings, eloping, no stress weddings, cheap wedding options

Once you've said YES, YES, YES to the man of your dreams, why not make the rest of the celebration a piece of cake? We're here to tell you that there is absolutely no need to drive yourself and those around you insane burden yourself and your beloved with lists, charts, graphs, financial statements and up to 24 months of planning and agonizing to become the new Mrs.

It's possible to create a memorable, romantic, fun, low stress and very affordable day to remember with just the few clicks of the mouse and a couple of phone calls in under a week.  Think we're making it up?     Definitely not!

With just a quick search on the internet for eloping, elopement packages or destination weddings you will see what wonderful services are available for you in a variety of locations. You'll be able to see photographs, check reputations and evaluate costs. You can see very quickly that you are no longer faced with just that Las Vegas option.  Your options available are a far cry from the cheesy little wedding chapel we've all heard about.  You'll be able to just forget about that borrowed dusty silk bouquet and the piped in fake wedding march song played way too loud.

We're here to let you there are sunny beaches in southern California, romantic snow holidays in Tahoe and even cruises to a variety of tropical islands. Think of it…you'll be able to marry and have a fabulous honeymoon all at once. It can be just the two of you, or you'll also see that many of the options available can even include your very pushiest closest family members and friends.

When planning your elopement your main concern is that you are legally married at the end of the day. This will involve finding and researching information about obtaining a marriage license in your location of your choice, and finding an officiant to perform the ceremony. Most all elopement services you contact will be able to provide information to help you obtain your marriage license, or at least head you in the right direction. Some of the basic information to get: types of identification needed, cost of marriage license, hours of operation of the licensing location, blood work that might be needed, waiting periods, any residency requirements, witnesses, type of officiant needed to solemnize the wedding, how is the marriage license recorded and how you receive your copy of that record. We have a page on our website dedicated to the marriage license requirements in San Diego here.

Once you've got that covered, you can begin to think about what other services might need. Be sure and double check exactly what services are offered when you pay for your elopement package. Double check what you'll need and what is actually included and provided for you. Typically, you are responsible for your own airline tickets, hotels, rings and attire. However there are some all inclusive packages available that include the kitchen sink airline and hotels. It seems there are as many types of elopement packages and options as there are couples. If you choose with your heart, choosing the options that give you comfort and peace of mind, you'll have a wedding day you'll always treasure.

Here in beautiful sunny Southern California, our boutique style elopement service is called Elope San Diego and is absolutely perfect for the couple who can't wait one more minute spontaneous couple. We offer small beach elopement packages for groups of 25 or fewer. We can include fresh rose petals in the sand, gorgeous photography, a romantic personalized ceremony, the marriage license with no waiting period and even valet parking for the bride and groom, all for a very affordable price. We also offer the option of just having the "ceremony only" (none of the extras) at sunset on a windswept beach. As with most elopement packages, including ours, you can choose what works for you given your budget, style and number of guests. Best of all we can put this together in just a couple of days notice.

Why not think about eloping for a beautiful destination wedding, here in San Diego we have the perfect solution, a totally fun plan "b" for the spontaneous couple who want something really special...
hey....what do you have to lose except your mind
