This weekend was one of our busiest of the year, we had the pleasure of joining a dozen couples in marriage  AND celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary too!

Fifty Years!!! 

Jeff and Danell were married in 1962, after they met in Long Beach, California. We helped them celebrate their wedding anniversary
with their 4 children and lots of grandchildren on Saturday.

Jeff and Danell are extra, extra special to us for many reasons, but most of all because they help us so much with our Lucky Pup Dog Rescue!   They pick up dogs off of death row from the San Bernardino shelters and bring them to us-- many, many times a year. 
We couldn't do what we do with out them, they love dogs as much as we do and are helping to safe lives.  Here's to the next 50 years!!

Love Conquers All ! 

From across the world, two very different people find each other and fall in love.... they marry on their two year anniversary of meeting.  The stuff of dreams. 

But what a journey to arrive on the beaches of Coronado last night!  

Ely from Puerto Rico and Gareth from New Zealand.  The distance aside, after navigating a long distance relationship for nearly two years, the date is set and the wedding is on.  

But just five days before the wedding Ely is attacked... by none other than her very own gall bladder!  Just days before she is schedule to jump on a plane with Gareth and Elope to San Diego, she is in the hospital undergoing major surgery. 

We have to say, this young couple have the stuff to make their marriage last... they were in great spirits last night and had thee most beautiful ceremony at sunset with us.  They were so happy, they glowed!  Seriously, glowed!!

We wish you all the VERY best!  Thank you for choosing us to be part of your very special evening.

Has it REALLY been a month since we've been here to blog? 
Say it isn't so......

Turned out to be a very busy, busy weekend for couples getting married around here in San Diego and on Coronado Beach.  The weather was gorgeous, it couldn't have been more perfect... and we had one special ceremony that was over the top:   Bambi and Joseph celebrating their 34th wedding anniversary!

We asked them what their secret was, Joseph was quick to say, "We never go to bed mad at one another" .... then he added, "When we met, we knew we were soul mates!"  Bambi agreed and grabbed his hand.  How wonderful is that?

We wish all of our couples who were married over the weekend the good fortune that Bambi and Joseph have had together!  We're celebrating 25 years of marriage in June as well!

Yippee!!!!  The print version of the article in the "New York Times" came out yesterday!   In case you haven't been following, it was an article about having your beloved dog (s) at your wedding/elopement .   Since this is something we specialize in, we were so excited to be included.   They somehow managed to spelled my name wrong...... but that's okay!  We got a nice little write up about the elopement and it was on real paper... not just on the internet :)

 Brandy and Joshua are part of a new trend that people are starting to notice!   It's the trend of couples including their beloved critters in their wedding celebrations. 


Coming up in the Style/Wedding section of the "New York Times" this Sunday, Brandy and Joshua's wedding- held on Coronado Dog Beach with us is mentioned. 

Brandy and Joshua got married with us on 11/11/11 at 11am on Dog Beach on Coronado Island.  They chose our romantic Elope to San Diego  pet friendly package with photos, flowers, ceremony and of course, their beloved pups.   They were SO excited that they were able to include both of their beloved pups in their celebration.

Westminster Says "Shelter Dog" Ads Were Just TOO Sad For Their Audience???

This story is our "WTF, WHT story" this week.  Sometimes we just can't help ourselves......

 Seems that the Westminster folks don't REALLY care about dogs... oh, unless they are perfect.  Well, their idea of "perfect".    They've pulled Pedigree as a sponsor because they felt ads like this one:

were just too "upsetting" for their audience.  Can you imagine? They said people actually felt like they had to turn their heads or change the station because it was too upsetting. to see dogs behind bars.
 What kind of lame reasoning is that for not supporting these dogs who find themselves homeless through no fault of their own?  Turns out that they are in the shelter because their lameass  irresponsible human owners failed them, now it's going to cost 'em their poor little life......who wouldn't want to help a dog in need?  The folks at Westminster turns out... it wouldn't have even cost them any more money to do the right thing.   

We thank Pedigree for the work they do and the cause they support.  They are doing the "right" thing and it should be celebrated.  FOUR MILLION dogs and cats are killed with our tax dollars each and every year.  Our throw away society and our throw away pets---that should upset the lazy boy recliner folks watching the Westminster circus...... Just sayin'

We see this day in and day out and it breaks our hearts to know how many dogs that could be helped if we banded together to help solve this problem.

Seems our couples know just how smart they are by eloping, saving money, time, stress, and even sometimes saving their relationship... but now we're giving couples an incentive to share their secret.  

Eloping is a pretty smart, sexy way to get married these days. With the packages we have designed for couples celebrations....some with up to 23 guests, it's a hybrid of eloping and a small wedding, the best of all worlds.  Ceremony, beautiful photographs, fresh flowers, rose petals, and valet parking for the bride and groom.

Our referral program works like this: 

refer a couple who reserve our " just the ceremony" option receive a $25 gift card

 We just received this wonderful little YouTube video that Doug and Ana did with the photographs I created for them at their wedding ceremony with us in December.

Ana and Doug eloped with us on the most beautiful morning in December.  They had  a couple of friends and Ana's son.

It's always really fun to see what people do with the images we create for them.  When  you have us photograph you, remember all of our photography sessions include the CD and a copyright release.  You too  can send cards, make DVD's and enlargements. Get creative!
