This weekend in May, makes for a perfect long
"San Diego wedding weekend".  

And for Steve and I, we're happy to share that
ten couples LOVE what we offer so much,
they have chosen to elope to San Diego with us.
 

Couples really do love the small, boutique style elopements
we offer~ without all the drama and fuss.
We know couples have lots of options,
so it's really an honor to be chosen and
trusted to be part of such a special celebration. 
We LOVE and appreciate all the referrals :)

It hardly seems possible, the time has flown by so fast,
but we've been offering gorgeous,
simple, beautiful wedding days to couples
for 28 years now. Here we are on our honeymoon
at the Hotel Del Coronado
in June of 1987.
Since that summer, we've married over 3500 happy couples.
Our first couples were married in Seattle.

I photographed 100 weddings
my very first year in business!
Steve soon joined and began performing ceremonies.

Our offbeat wedding ceremonies have taken us to
a baseball field: Safeco Field in Seattle, hot air balloons,
the cockpit of a 747, pastures, victorian mansions, trains,
small churches, backyards, gardens, San Diego Zoo,
the Seattle Space Needle (many times),
boats, docks, living rooms,
hotels and parks.  It's been a huge adventure!

Trains, planes.....but no automobiles yet...

I'd write more, but we have to finish the bouquets,
load the car and head out the beach.

San Diego The Perfect Place
for a Winter Elope Wedding !

Oh, did we mention it's sunny and 70 in San Diego...

as many parts of the country dig out from a huge snow storm?

Yvonne and Randy eloped with us and it was a perfect in every way.
They traveled away from mountains of snow and ice to tie the knot.
 

We found a special bond with them because they too, work
together as a couple every day. 
They are a fantastic real estate team at Howard/Hanna
in Jackson, Michigan
Working together is something most couples don't even attempt :)

They were married in a gorgeous spot....
actually, our favorite spot...
we were laughing the other day because
one of our colleagues told a bride that
"Christine and Steve do their weddings at the "stinky jetty "

 in an effort dissuade them from working with us.

Made us remember fondly
  our first 20 years  spent marrying and photographing couples
in picturesque Seattle, Washington.
A place where the wedding professionals are mannered, 
kind to one another, network and work in the spirit of cooperation.   

Guess "stinky" is in the of beholder,
because about two hundred and fifty couples year LOVE our spot..
 it's private, it's free and nearly perfect in every way.

Coronado Beach...stinky jetty ?  We think not!

Iphone Photos at a Wedding ????

  I know just last week I was trashing the phone
and look at me this week. 

 I'm usually taking quick photos for others with their Iphones just before I run off the beach so they can post them right away on FB .....however, on Valentine's Day weekend I pulled out my OWN Iphone and got some fun shots, then used instragram for the first time at one of our tiny weddings and just LOVE the results.   It's true, I haven't made them bigger, or printed them at my lab yet, but that's next.

We started our little "Elope San Diego" blog many years ago, and this month we hit over 63,000 visitors, and our YouTube video of wedding images hit over 17,000!  

Wow! 

In celebration of our success we have a new name for our blog 

 "San Diego Barefoot Weddings"

 It best describes what we offer.  

Unstuffy, happy,low stress ceremonies on the beach or in the neighborhood parks.

No arches...No chairs....No drama ! 

Yeah, there are plenty of other companies in the area that offer all the traditional hoopla, but that's not us.  At the end of the day, we happen to think your marriage is a whole lot more important than having an expensive, stressful wedding. 

This sentiment comes from a couple who have been married for 26 years, worked together and who have been a part of over 3500 weddings since 1987.

That said, we love to have a great time with you, to include your dogs, your kids, your close family and friends...but remember.. we only do tiny weddings for groups under 25.

We know we're not for everyone, and that's okay with us. 

The couples that do choose to work with us love what we offer,

and we happen to have a 99% approval rating!

Everyone has a hobby and this is ours!  When we're not at the beach photographing weddings and marrying couples who are eloping with us-- this is what we do to "give back"

We were touched by one of our brides over the weekend by a very generous donation to our dog rescue.  We were so very touched! 

So we say....thank you Miss  "D" for the huge donation this weekend to our dog rescue.  We were there to celebrate your day and you made ours.

Last night we had the pleasure of marrying Jessica and Heath, 
as they decided to "Elope To San Diego" with us...actually the wedding ceremony was held on Coronado Beach just a few minutes from downtown San Diego.

Simple and Elegant. 

No chairs. No Arches. No Drama !

They decided that our "Blissfully Simply Elope Package" for two
was perfect ...and it was...honestly, we can't remember when we've had a happier couple!!

We wanted to send a shout to them this morning for being so much fun to work with. 

In spite of a broken leg and bulky foot cast, Heath didn't let that get in the way for one minute.
